
Our Story
How we got here:
​Back in the crisp fall of 2005, Dan was happily peddling phone book ads for the Senior Directory, living the dream of ink and paper. Then, out of the blue, his high school buddy swooped in with a pitch: "Dan, come join our insurance group!" Dan, ​n​ot sure why kind of meeting it was going to be, sniffed out a multi-level marketing vibe and thought, "Eh, might be a solid Plan B if phone books go the way of the dodo." Spoiler alert: they kinda did.

Fast forward to April 24, 2006—Dan aced his life insurance exam like a champ, and thus began his grand insurance adventure! At the time, Dan and his wife, Jill, were running the Crawford School of Irish Dance, kicking up a storm while dodging the perils of being self-employed without proper insurance. Dan figured, "Hey, I’ll sort out our coverage and help some folks along the way." Backup plan? More like a plot twist in the making!​​​​

​As Dan dove into the life insurance game, he discovered a superpower: representing over 50 companies meant he could save clients from getting fleeced by single-company reps. "This is too easy!" he chuckled, rescuing people from overpriced policies with the finesse of a financial superhero. But the universe wasn’t done with him yet.​
Early summer rolled around, and three to five neighbors cornered Dan like a sitcom cliffhanger, asking, "Yo, Dan, got any health insurance hookups?" Right before this, a health insurance agent had swung by Dan’s place, sized him up, and dropped the mic: "Why aren’t you selling health insurance?" Dan, still riding the life insurance high, just shrugged and said, "I’m loving the life vibe, man!" But when the neighbors came knocking, Dan looked skyward, muttered, "Alright, Big Guy, I get the hint," and marched off to snag his health insurance license.

Armed with his new powers, Dan started snapping up business leads like they were Black Friday deals, helping companies shop around for the best coverage options. He wasn’t just Dan anymore—he was Dan, Your Favorite Insurance Man, swooping in to save the day with quotes and ​c​overages. Business was booming, and Dan was ​o​n his way to growing and helping those out.​

Then, in 2019, Dan had a lightbulb moment brighter than a neon sign: "Why go solo when I can build a squad?" Thus, Lake Point Insurance Agency was born. Dan hired a ​c​razy cool team to handle the day-to-day appointments and operations, scaling up to help even more clients while keeping his sanity intact. With his trusty crew by his side, Dan’s agency grew into a powerhouse, proving that what started as a "backup plan" could turn into a legacy of helping people—and having a laugh or two along the way.​ (Based on a True Story!)
